Eugene Jarecki is an accomplished documentary director and producer and the winner of multiple Peabody Awards and Grand Jury Prizes at the Sundance Film Festival. His past works include The Trials of Henry Kissinger in 2002, Why We Fight in 2005, the Emmy-award winning 2011 film Reagan, and 2013’s The House I Live In, among others. His newest film, THE KING, premiered at the Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals and was executive produced by Steven Soderbergh, Errol Morris, and Rosanne Cash. It follows the rise and fall of America explaining how the hell we got here, through the lens of Elvis Presley’s trajectory of achieving the American Dream, only to have a precipitous downfall. The film, which has been met with universal acclaim, features notable luminaries as Dan Rather, Van Jones, James Carville, Ethan Hawke, Emmylou Harris, Chuck D and Alec Baldwin among many others.
